Queen Spa

Description: Queen Spa is a black box performance that considers the entanglement of colonial histories and desire through choreography, audio, and text. The work interrogates the fantasy and mourning of the coloniser. It shifts between the romanticised, the eroticised and the psychoanalysed to stage a relentless longing for a sense of self.

These photos were taken during the ISAC Festival 2026 which took place at Tour à Plomb, Brussels, Belgium on 19 June 2026. I created the first iteration of this work as a part of my jury project (December 2025, June 2026) for Institut Supérieur des Arts et des Chorégraphies (ISAC) of Académie royale des Beaux-Arts Ecole supérieure des Arts Ville de Bruxelles (ArBA-EsA).
